Old Bridge Library Resumes Summer Hours

The Old Bridge Public Library will resume its summer hours for the months of July and August. The Central Library will open from 9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and the Library will be closed on Sunday. The Laurence Harbor Branch of the Old Bridge Library will be open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and the Laurence Harbor Branch Library will be closed Friday and Sunday. Normal Library hours will resume after Labor Day. Both branches of the Old Bridge Public Library will be closed Saturday, July 4 for Independence Day. The Library's Summer Reading program will kickoff this weekend! The themes for 2009 are Be Creative @ Your Library for children and teens and Master the Art of Reading @ Your Library for the Adults.

This weekend in addition to taking registration for the summer reading program, we will feature two music programs: a Songwriters forum on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and The Russian Duo on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

On Sunday at 2:00 p.m. there will also be a Family Fun Day program - bring a plain white T-Shirt Use our “Be–Creative @ Old Bridge Public Library” designs and fabric markers to create the perfect attire for Summer Reading!

The Library will be offering a free SAT workshop for teenagers grades 6 - 12 at the Central Branch on Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. This program is being presented by Ivy Insiders and taught by Brown University student and Old Bridge High School Alumnus Kathy Bui. Want a new look for a room or even your entire home? Do you think you don’t have the talent or creativity to do your own decorating? Discover your creative side with Karen Sanders, decorator and owner of a decorating business. Join us on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 7 p.m. as Ms. Sanders presents a dynamic program on how to achieve decorating success. The presentation will include before/after scenes and advice on fabrics and color palettes. Ms. Sanders will talk about current and upcoming design trends and take questions from attendees. Door prizes consisting of design books will be awarded by Ms. Sanders. Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. for this exciting program at the Central Branch of the Old Bridge Public Library.
