Caught Reading: Cold Granite by Stuart MacBrideMcBride's debut novel is a dark and haunting police mystery set in Aberdeen, Scotland. Detective Logan MacRae is back on the force after a nearly fatal attack, and on his first day back on the job, he's saddled with finding a serial killer and a dirty cop who has been leaking information to the press. Despite some well-worn cliches and stereotypes, MacBride's first book is a winner, and hopefully we'll be able to share in some more of Detective Logan's adventures in the coming years.
