On Wednesday, February 18th, at 7:30 p.m. the Old Bridge Public Library hosts the Freehold Phrasers Toastmasters Club. The mission of the Toastmasters is to help develop leadership and communication skills. Come experience the advantages to learning proper speaking techniques. Along with improving speaking, listening, and thinking skills, one can also increase self-esteem through active participation. Members of Toastmasters will demonstrate both spontaneous and prepared speech making. There will be an Icebreaker segment and a humorous segment. This will be followed by a regular club meeting. On Saturday, February 28th at 1:30 p.m. President Abraham Lincoln arrives to celebrate his 200th birthday at the Old Bridge Public Library. Actor/Historian Christian Johnson, of the American Historical Theatre in Philadelphia, will portray Lincoln’s character in period costume. Mr. Johnson has performed all over the United States and even overseas. Christian Johnson is a gifted actor who has successfully portrayed many historical characters including Patrick Henry, William Penn, and Governor William Livingston. This historical event will delight the entire family. Come and help celebrate his 200th birthday.
