The Library's summer reading program is off to a flying start. Kids can read books and win free prizes like magnifying glasses, growing dinosaurs and more. Summer Reading Kickoff!

On Saturday, June 21st, the Library will begin its most ambitious summer reading program ever: at 11:00 a.m. there will be a Mad Science show with a Van Der Graff Generator, dry ice and slime... and ice cream! At 2:00 p.m. we will have live music from Middletown based pop band The Wag along with a costume party and an Albert Einstein look-alike contest. Old Bridge Library - Treasures of the Earth Show

Rocks, Gems & Fossils, Saturday, August 3 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Enjoy viewing collections, bring your own specimen or book a whole table for the show. Ms. Allison Tuckman, geology instructor at Old Bridge High School, will be on hand to answer questions. Old Bridge Library - It's not too late!

For fabulous prizes! This summer the adults in Old Bridge can join their own summer reading club “Between the Covers” which allows readers to review the books they read and vie for weekly prizes. It is simple to join! First, fill out a short registration form at the adult services desk. Then, members fill out a brief card for each book they read, each audiobook they listen to, or each adult program they attend. Old Bridge Library - Summer Activites for Adults

While children and teens are busy reading for their summer club, the adults can enjoy the many programs and activities scheduled just for them.  There will be a guitar concert featuring Joseph Frame, weekly movies for seniors, a writing program with Jon Gibbs, book discussions, and the “Nighttime is the Right Time” movie series. Other speakers include Jamie Novak discussing Clutter and Storage solutions, Dr. Michael Rothman explaining the myths and confusion about nutrition and stress, Dena Price demonstrating how to find great recipes online, author John Heldon presenting his book “Ark” and Timeline New Jersey with Walter Choroszewski. So don’t miss out on all the reading “Between the Covers” and all the special events scheduled for adults. All the programs are free and open to the public. Old Bridge Library - Adult Summer Reading Program

Join the Old Bridge Library's Adult Summer Reading program Between the Covers and earn a chance to win fabulous prizes. Sign up at the Library's information Desk on June 23 or later. Then write a review of each book/audiobook you read or library program you attend and enter it into one of our prize drawings. Participants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Old Bridge Library card. Participants will be eligible to win one weekly prize per summer and all the weekly prize entries will be entered into a drawing for the grand prizes.

Summer Reading At The Old Bridge Library! Come in or print out from the web site a Novel Destinations Passport. Complete a review of every book you read or listen to this summer, and then when your passport is complete, turn it it for a chance to win a prize. Drawings will be held each week, all entries not drawn for the weekly prize will be eligible for the grand prize drawing. You can only win one weekly prize and one grand prize, and you must have a vaklid Old Bridge Library card to enter.

Summer Reading @ The Library: The Old Bridge Public Library will offer a wide range of activities for all ages as part of the 2010 Summer Reading Club. This summer’s theme is related to water, perfect for a community close to the shore. The Children’s Department’s theme will be “Make a Splash at Your Library” while the teens “Make Waves at the Library” and adults are encouraged to “Water Your Mind at the Library.” By registering for the Summer Reading Club, you will be eligible for fabulous prizes! Read a book, watch a movie or attend one of the Library’s many programs and then write a review of it. Tell us what you liked (or what you didn’t) and your review will be posted on the Library’s Summer Reading blog and you’ll be entered to win a weekly prize. All entries will also go into a pool for the grand prize. Keep those reviews coming—the more you turn in, the more chances you have to win! The festivities will commence on Saturday, June 26 with the Summer Reading kickoff Luau featuring a live concert for all ages from the pop music band The Wag and a fun craft project for kids. Adults and teens will be able to register for the Summer Reading program on the Library’s web site or in person. Parents can register children in person at the Library. Arrrgh, matey! We will wrap up the summer with a special Library wide Pirate Spectacular in late August don’t miss it! Win Fabulous Prizes!

Join the Library's Master the Art of Reading summer program and be eligible to win free pizza and a chance for a free six month membership to the new Old Bridge YMCA! All you need to do is stop by the information desk to pick up a review form and then have fun - read books, watch movies, listen to music or attend library events. Then fill out a review form and drop if off at the information desk (or e-mail your review here) and then visit the Adult Summer Reading blog to see your review posted. Reviews are entered into weekly drawings for free pizza as well as the grand prize drawing. Submit as many reviews as you like.

The Library's Summer Reading program will kickoff this weekend! The themes for 2009 are Be Creative @ Your Library for children and teens and Master the Art of Reading @ Your Library for the Adults.

This weekend in addition to taking registration for the summer reading program, we will feature two music programs: a Songwriters forum on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and The Russian Duo on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

On Sunday at 2:00 p.m. there will also be a Family Fun Day program - bring a plain white T-Shirt Use our “Be–Creative @ Old Bridge Public Library” designs and fabric markers to create the perfect attire for Summer Reading!

The theme of this years Summer Reading Club is "Catch the Reading Bug!" The Library has a number of groups and programs for all ages to promote reading over the summer.
