OBPL's Young Adult Librarian Theresa Wordlemann is quoted in today's Home News Tribune article "Popular Movies Spur Kids to Read."

Theresa Wordelmann, a librarian at the Old Bridge library, said children are also reading magazines, newspapers and other items geared toward their specific interests. "They're not just opening up the traditional book," she said. "One kid who volunteers reads Time (magazine) cover to cover. If a kid is interested in music they might get into reading Alternative Press or Rolling Stone." Wordelmann said what is interesting is that teenagers are reading things that are current, happening in some part of the world or directly affecting their lives.
