Old Bridge Library: June 2012 Book Discussions

Monday, July 9 at 7:00 pm: The Ladies Night Out Book Discussion Group will discuss two books by Anita Shreve. All He Ever Wanted: Years after escaping from a hotel fire and encountering an elusive woman, whom he subsequently married and divorced, a man travels from New England to Florida by train and remembers the relationship. Testimony: A New England boarding school is rocked in the wake of a sex scandal in which participants were caught on videotape, a situation that derails the innocence and best intentions of students, parents, and others in life-shattering ways.

Thursday, July 12 at 6:30 pm: The Bookenders Book Discussion Group will talk about The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer. An unforgettable story of three brothers, of history and love, of marriage tested by disaster, of a Jewish family's struggle against annihilation, and of the dangerous power of art in a time of war. 

Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 pm: The Science Fiction Book Discussion Group will review Schild’s Ladder by Greg Egan. Twenty-thousand years in the future, a dangerous experiment in quantum physics creates an expanding vacuum in space that threatens to wipe out all humanity.
